ABOUT THE AUTHOR

LANDON WALLACE

Landon Wallace’s background as an attorney and his work in politics have provided him with unique insight into the worlds of the lawyers and politicians he writes about. As Wallace has learned over the years, “fiction must go a long way to keep up with the bizarre characters who inhabit our American political culture.” Wallace also explores complex issues of identity, love, loss, and connection in his novels. In his popular Election series, the author delves deeply into these themes, raising the ultimate question of whether a tarnished but ethical leader can stay true to his values while campaigning for and holding public office. Yet, writing in Wallace’s view is first and foremost about good storytelling. He often says, “I want to write fiction that keeps readers turning that next page even as their eyelids droop with exhaustion.”

Wallace is also fascinated by history, and his novels always build historically interesting details around each of his characters’ fictional lives. His debut work, Come and Take It: Search for the Treasure of the Alamo, weaves a complex and compelling storyline that takes the reader through the harrowing days before and after the famous battle that led to Texas independence. Wallace is currently looking forward to the 2021 release of his fourth book, Saving St. Nicholas, a suspense novel that chronicles a journey of faith leading to the rediscovery of the real third century saint who would eventually become known as Santa Claus.

Wallace lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife, three daughters, and dog Scout. His earlier works can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online retailers. For more from this author, read his musings here.

IN THE EARLY MORNING OF MARCH 6, 1836, the Mexican army storms the Alamo and kills every one of the defenders except William Barret Travis’s young black slave named Joe.
